E. Cornell Malone Corp. has been installing a wide variety of commercial low slope roof systems for over 35 years. Our team has an in depth knowledge and experience to handle any low slope application. The majority of the low slope systems that are installed today are listed as follows:
- Modified Bitumen (SBS, APP)
- Built-up Roofing
- Single-Ply Membranes (TPO, PVC, EPDM)
The modified bitumen and built-up roof applications may be installed by hot asphalt, cold adhesive, or torched. The single ply membranes are typically installed mechanically attached, fully adhered, or ballasted. These roof systems typically have a life expectancy between 15 and 30 years depending on many variables. These roofs systems may also qualify for LEED credits as well as solar reflectivity. We also install metal roofs, coatings, and various other waterproofing applications on low slope applications as well.
Not only do steep slope applications serve to keep the building dry, but because of their visibility they also provide an aesthetic function to the building. Since our beginning, ECMC takes great pride in installing high quality steep slope applications. The detail work is critical to the long-term success of these roof systems. These applications are typically from one of the following
- Standing Seam Metal Roofing
- Slate and Tile Roofing
- Metal Tiles and Shingles
- Asphalt Shingles
Because of our experience, ECMC has been involved in some of the most complex and high profile steep slope projects within our region. Over the years we have developed methods for handling tapered and radius metal panels, as well as extremely long panels in hard to reach areas. We also work on many steep slope historical preservations involving historical tiles and intricate metal flashings.
Garden roofs and plaza decks are becoming increasingly more popular as roofing applications. These systems offer designers an unlimited resource of creativity and uniqueness to a roofs design.
These systems can provide many advantages to building owners and designers such as
- Improves a buildings efficiency and energy consumption
- Garden roofs retain most of the rainwater and reduce stormwater run-off
- Enhances the view of a buildings roof top
- Building owners can receive tax benefits
- Increases the life of the roof
ECMC has the experience to work with designers to make their dreams a reality. Our team can assist in the design process to ensure the roof will function in order to meet the designer’s goals.
